MTWThF, 12:00 - 12:50 a.m. Choir Room (FA-111) Auditioned ensemble that studies and performs repertoire of a wide range of styles spanning the choral standards of the Renaissance and Baroque eras to contemporary works. This is the flagship ensemble for the choral program. Members of this ensemble participate in semester choral concerts as well as the annual productions of Festival of Carols and Handel's Messiah. Additionally, they represent the college during the annual music department tour and the vocal jazz tour during the spring semester. MWF, 1:00 - 2:50 p.m. Choir Room (FA-111) & AP-118 Auditioned ensemble that studies and performs various styles of show tunes (musicals) and popular/contemporary music. Members of this ensemble perform as part of the semester choral concerts as well as the annual productions of Festival of Carols. Additionally, they represent the college during the annual music department tour during the spring semester. Th, 6:30 p.m. Choir Room (FA-111) This ensemble is open to all interested singers (SATB) who desire to sing in a community setting. Choristers will perform repertoire from a wide range of styles spanning the choral standards all areas and include many popular, folk, spiritual and hymn settings. Members of this ensemble participate in their own choral concert at the end of each semester and form the central group of singers for mini-masterworks concerts. This is a half-credit course ($45.00/sem.) and does not count toward completion of a degree. Directed by Prof. Chase Moore (fall semester) and Dr. Gideon Burrows (spring semester). |
